What is Meditation?

Meditation is a type of mind-body practice. Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. During meditation you focus your attention on being in the present moment and letting go of some of the streams of thoughts that are causing you worry or stress. 

How does meditation work?

Meditation sessions are instructed guided sessions, using a blend of Buddhist and Taoist practices.
 
Mindfulness-based practices, such as meditation, have been shown to improve mental health, specifically in the area of stress.  Meditation focuses on calming the mind and regulating emotion. This can help the impact of stress in the body and lower the risk of its side effect.
