About Mark
Mark is an experienced counsellor who works with adults and couples with a wide range of issues and problems. He uses a collaborative style of working in order to build up a strong therapeutic relationship with each individual client or couple. He is an integrative counsellor using CBT and humanistic approaches in his work and he draws on a range of therapeutic models in order to tailor his approach to meet the needs and preferences of each individual or couple.
To have a positive and meaningful relationship with ourselves and others, to feel happy and content with who we are, is the goal of therapy. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. I use Transactional Analysis as a model of therapy to help my clients achieve the goals they want to achieve in their lives. I work at a relational level and use TA with both individual clients and couples during their therapy journey

Training & Experience
Mark has qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy, including a Diploma in CBT and PG Dip in Humanistic Therapies, including Transactional Analysis. He has a Masters Degree in Social Sciences and Drug and Alcohol Studies. Mark has other qualifications including leadership, management and supervision. He has completed training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and further training an experience in trauma informed practice.
Mark worked for thirteen years at a well known addictions clinic where latterly he managed the therapy department.
He has worked in outpatient treatment settings in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and has extensive experience of working with individuals, couples and groups.
Professional Bodies
Mark is Accredited with COSCA (Scotlands Counselling and Psychotherapy Governing Body). He has been a long standing member of COSCA since 2007 and adheres to their Ethical Standards and Guidelines.
