About Juanita

Juanita is a qualified Person-centred counsellor, certified Somatic Trauma Therapist, and certified Myofascial Trauma Therapist, with a broad range of experience. Compassion is central to Juanita’s approach—she believes it is a vital part of the healing process and brings both compassion and empathy to her practice. Juanita is dedicated to helping you feel safe and grounded as you work together.

Juanita also incorporates Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into her practice, offering a practical, goal-oriented approach for short-term support. SFBT helps clients identify their strengths and resources, focusing on solutions rather than problems, and is particularly effective for those seeking rapid, meaningful change. SFBT works best for everyday problems – things like stress, low motivation or workplace challenges – because it focuses on finding practical solutions quickly.

There are many reasons why we become stuck in life: traumatic experiences, feeling overwhelmed, disconnection from ourselves due to others’ expectations, work-related stress, or difficulties in relationships. Juanita provides a supportive space that enables you to reconnect with yourself, explore, untangle, and discover your own patterns of behaviour—allowing for change, personal growth, and a new perspective to move forward.

Juanita has completed advanced training and holds certifications in both Somatic Trauma Therapy and Myofascial Trauma Therapy. Somatic Trauma Therapy is a body-focused approach to trauma recovery that emphasizes the mind-body connection, helping individuals process and release trauma by focusing on bodily sensations. Myofascial Trauma Therapy further supports healing by addressing trauma stored in the body’s connective tissues, promoting physical and emotional well-being.

These therapies aim to help individuals regain control of their nervous system and reduce the impact of traumatic experiences on their overall health.
