About Anne

Anne (she/her) is a gestalt psychotherapist, registered to practice as an advanced trainee. She has a warm, considered and down to earth manner. Anne knows first-hand how daunting it can be to take steps towards healing and growth. Opening up to another requires a felt sense of trust and safety, a deep knowing that we will be held by someone ‘big’ enough to welcome all that we are without judgement.

Gestalt therapy enhances our self-awareness and capacity to become more choiceful about how we respond to our thoughts and feelings, others and situations. Rather than analysing you or making interpretations, client and therapist work relationally, holistically and creatively, with an emphasis on what is emerging in and between us in the present moment.

Anne is comfortable working with anyone who chooses to work with her, and with those drawn to a talking therapy that is relational, existential and compassionate. She strives to be anti-oppressive and trauma-informed, and is committed to inclusion and social justice.

Anne can help with the following issues:

  • people going through the menopause
  • work-related stress and anxiety
  • living with neurodivergence (whether or not formally diagnosed)
  • relationship difficulties and feeling stuck in old patterns
  • belonging, identity or feeling like an outsider
  • diversity and difference (such as gender, sexuality, and cultural heritage)
  • shame and our inner critic
  • relational / developmental / situational trauma
  • on a journey of growth and self-expression
  • distress about conflict, migration or the climate emergency.

Anne works with clients on a short term (6-8 sessions) and open-ended basis.

In addition to personal therapy, Anne runs menopause support groups and climate cafes. Do get in touch if you would like to know more.
