About Heather
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t have to face it alone. Heather is a psychodynamic counsellor offering a calm space where you can be heard and never rushed. Together, you’ll explore what feels difficult now and gently trace where it began — always at a pace that feels safe for you. Whether your past holds trauma, neglect or loss, or you’re carrying anxiety, anger or numbness in the present, Heather will walk alongside you, helping you understand patterns, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward steadier ground. She offers both short- and long-term work with adults.
Heather works with a range of issues including
- Grief, loss and life transitions
- Childhood trauma
- Abuse (childhood, domestic, emotional, sexual)
- Adult trauma
- Family issues
- Gender-based violence
- Work issues
- Attachment and trust difficulties
- Anxiety and panic
- Low mood and depression
- Shame and self-esteem concerns
- Relationship challenges
Difficult experiences can leave traces — in our bodies, our relationships, and the ways we respond to the world. You might notice sudden anger, feeling shut down or on edge, struggling to trust, or thinking you’re “too sensitive.” Heather’s work is grounded in the understanding that early relationships and past experiences can continue to shape how we feel and behave in the present — often outside of our awareness. Exploring these patterns gently, at a pace that feels manageable, can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and why. Heather has experience working with young adults and adults who have lived through childhood trauma, gender-based violence and chronic illness. She is also passionate about supporting people experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-worth, anger or a sense of being “stuck.”
