About Anne

Anne (she/her/they) is a gestalt psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples, and multi-partner relationships. She has a warm, considered, and down to earth manner. Anne knows first-hand how daunting it can be to take steps towards healing and growth. She understands how opening up to another requires a felt sense of trust and safety, a knowing that we will be met by someone ‘big’ enough to hold all that we are with compassion.

Gestalt therapy enhances self-awareness and our capacity to become more choiceful about how we respond to our thoughts and feelings, others and situations. Client and therapist work relationally, holistically and creatively, with an emphasis on what is emerging in the ‘here and now’ of a therapy session.

Anne is comfortable working with anyone over 25 who chooses to work with her. She opposes conversion therapy, and strives to be anti-oppressive, neurodivergent aware, and trauma sensitive. She is committed to inclusion and social justice.

Anne can help with the following:

  • Ageing
  • Belonging
  • Change and transitions
  • Climate change
  • Communication
  • Couples
  • Cultural dynamics
  • Feeling stuck
  • Gender identity
  • Grief and loss
  • Identity
  • Inner critic
  • Intersectionality
  • LGBTQ+
  • Menopause
  • QTIPOC
  • Relationships
  • Relational trauma
  • Self expression
  • Sexuality
  • Shame
  • Transitions
  • Trauma
  • Work related issues.

Anne works with clients on a short term (such as 6-8 sessions) and open-ended basis. In addition to individuals, she support couples of all configurations with relationship and communication issues. She sees clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (daytime only).

Anne also hosts inclusive menopause support groups and climate cafes. Do get in touch if you would like to know more.

Therapeutic Approach

For Anne, therapy is an authentic encounter between human beings. Gestalt for her is more than a therapeutic approach, but a way of being. Anne believes everyone and everything are interconnected. Despite what hurts us love is fundamental to healing and growth. Enduring change involves going deeper into our selves and accepting all that we are. Contentment comes through discovering what gives our life meaning. We cannot separate trauma from systemic inequities. And, we are always a unique ‘work-in-process.
