Louise Crockert

Person-Centred Counsellor

Louise is a Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience working in the NHS, University counselling and the voluntary sector.

You might be going through a difficult time in your life just now.  You might just need a safe space to begin some personal development. You may or may not have been to see your GP or told anyone how you are feeling. The prospect of ‘going for counselling’ might be scary or mysterious. However, if you make that initial contact with Louise, you can talk it through and she will answer any questions you may have.

Louise is a down-to-earth practitioner who offers a specific counselling service for the emergency services. She specialises in LGBT, sexuality and sexual health and can also help with

  • relationship issues
  • family issues
  • work based problems
  • bereavement
  • self esteem
  • anxiety
  • depression

Since qualifying as a counsellor in 1998, she has worked within primary care in Lanarkshire, a university student counselling service, an LGBT sexual health service and currently an Employee Assistance Provider. In between all this, she has been a Police Officer, volunteer manager in a Children’s Hospice and a board director of a national charity.

Louise has a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and Mental Health and a Diploma in Person Centred Counselling from Strathclyde University. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abides by their ethical guidelines.
