Psychodynamic Counsellor

Lorna is a Psychodynamic Counsellor who provides a safe place for her clients so that they feel valued and are able to explore the reasons for accessing counselling.

Lorna builds an accepting and non-judgemental relationship with her clients.  She has worked in Education for over thirty years and was involved in pastoral care and then as a counsellor in a school. Lorna has experience of dealing with a variety of issues including:

  • Relationship issues
  • Family issues, including young people who have been both emotionally and physically abused
  • Survivors of Sexual Abuse
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Work-related issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Bereavement

Lorna has a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Garnethill Centre and qualified in 2007.  She is a registered member of BACP and works according to their Code of Ethics. She has participated in various training courses, including Survivors of Sexual Abuse and ASIST training for suicide. Since qualifying in 2007, Lorna has been a volunteer at Kerith Counselling, both as a student and a qualified counsellor and has recently done sessional work there. She has worked with both adults and young people.
