Lorna Henderson

Psychodynamic Counsellor

Lorna offers face-to-face counselling.

Lorna is a Psychodynamic Counsellor who provides a safe place for her clients where they can feel valued and are able to explore their reasons for accessing counselling. In this setting, free from outside influences, Lorna builds an accepting and non-judgemental relationship with her clients.

For over thirty years Lorna worked in education, primarily in a pastoral care role and latterly as a counsellor in school. In addition to this Lorna has counselled mainly adults and some young people at Kerith Counselling for a number of years. • Family issues, including young people who have been both emotionally and physically abused
  • Survivors of sexual abuse
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem
  • Self harm
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Bereavement

Lorna gained her Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Garnethill Centre  in 2007. She is a registered member of the BACP and works according to their Code of Ethics. She has participated in various training courses including Survivors of Sexual Abuse and ASIST training for suicide.

Lorna recognises the importance of therapy for student counsellors and is committed to supporting them on their journey to qualification.
