About Lorna
Lorna is a Psychodynamic Counsellor who provides a safe place for her clients where they can feel valued and are able to explore their reasons for accessing counselling. In this setting, free from outside influences, Lorna builds an accepting and non-judgemental relationship with her clients.
For over thirty years Lorna worked in education,primarily in a pastoral care role and latterly as a counsellor in school. In addition to this Lorna has counselled mainly adults and some young people at Kerith Counselling for a number of years. Lorna believes that by working collaboratively, repeated patterns of behaviour emerge and together these can be considered and possibly changed.
Lorna works with a range of issues including:

- Family issues, including young people who have been both emotionally and physically abused
- Survivors of sexual abuse

- Anxiety

- Low self-esteem
- Self harm
- Suicidal thoughts

Training and Experience
Lorna gained her Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Garnethill Centre in 2007. She has participated in various training courses including Survivors of Sexual Abuse and ASIST training for suicide.
Lorna recognises the importance of therapy for student counsellors and is committed to supporting them on their journey to qualification.
