Heather Whyte, Person-Centred Counsellor

Heather Whyte

Person-Centred Counsellor

Heather is a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor who trusts that people have it within themselves to make positive changes to their lives. She believes that people can benefit from having a safe space to work through their issues in their own time, without fear of judgement, and that it is important that people find the right therapist to support them on their journey.

Heather knows that a good therapeutic relationship is key, and takes time in the first meeting to discuss what the client wants, and to ensure that they feel heard, and she believes in making the sessions as comfortable as possible. She lets her clients guide each session so that they then feel empowered to make changes and trust that they can make good decisions about their own lives.
Heather has worked with a wide range of clients, and with a variety of different issues including:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Work-related stress
  • Bereavement
  • Body Dysmorphia
  • Trauma
  • Abuse

Heather holds a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Strathclyde, and is a registered member of the BACP, so ensures she works within their Code of Ethics. Prior to achieving her Diploma, Heather worked for many years supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities in the community.
